Man that is so fuckin bitchin. I wish I had any creativity at all with Lego (or in general). I love Lego and have a decent amount for a 32yo with no kids, but I’m a follow-the-directions kinda guy, I’ll take em apart to rebuild but that’s about it. I've been looking for cheap lots to buy to just mess around with but I could never come up with something that detailed, serious props.

The sturdiness of the frame is really impressive, did you think up the design and everything?

Yep, 100% my design. Other than I modeled it after a Ford truck :)

Thanks! It’s a life long collection of parts and eBay buys for special pieces. Like the wheel fender round parts are my latest pieces.

I use Lego digital designer software for my builds. I can try out different parts and techniques without making my room a mess

WOW that’s really, really impressive!!! Thanks so much for sharing!

That’s a self-fulfilling pro phecy. You’ll never be creative unless you believe you can be. And creativity is like a muscle, it can be strengthened. You just need practice :)

Awesome! I’ve been planning a Lego Mack U model truck for a while now, but it’s still in the planning stage as I’m trying to build it to scale and dimensions for these things are surprisingly tricky to find...

Scale is tricky. I usually go by wheel size

That’s what I’m doing as well, but I couldn’t find the real truck’s wheel size on the internet, so I’m going off of the one scale drawing of the truck I found and jumping through several scale calculation hoops. The other challenge is finding a picture of the engine bay because I want the hood to open, but pictures of it open are hard to come by.

I couldn’ t find anything either. Must be some good engines if no one opens the hood :P

That is incredible. Great video and editing too. What camera did you use?
The only time I’ve ever attempted a large scale 100% original Lego recreation, it was very hard. The scaling is very impressive, something I really had trouble with.

Best I could find was a video of a scale model of a Mack DM600 (the heavy duty version of the U) where they show the engine. I sure hope that engine model is accurate, because that’s all I’ve got for reference.
